| “THE TOTAL WIDE RECEIVER” Play Maker: Any member of a football team, who at any given time, is able to dictate the outcome of a specific play. This is what is called “making a play.” Throughout the course of a football game, there are situations that arise which are more critical than others. In order for a football team to be successful, it must be able to rely on a player or players to “make a play” during these critical times. Wide Receiver: A member of a football team who specializes in receiving various forms of passes from the quarterback on any part of the football field. He is also expected to be skillful enough, that after receiving the pass, he is able to avoid/or run over any would-be defenders and score. Being a successful wide receiver requires a specific mentality. You must not accept being covered. If a play ever results in a DB having good coverage, there must have been a breakdown on your part.
